Botox for Chronic Migraines
BOTOX® is a purified protein collected from naturally occurring bacteria that blocks signals that may cause migraine attacks. BOTOX® prevents headaches and migraine attacks before they even start. It is recommended that BOTOX® treatment be given every 12 weeks. It can be used to prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine who have 15 or more days each month with headache lasting 4 or more hours each day. It has been shown to significantly reduce the number of headache days per month.
