Dietician

The ByWard Family Health Team (BWFHT) offers individual counselling in nutrition by a registered Dietitian.  Registered dietitians are health care professionals who are trained to provide advice and counselling about diet, food and nutrition. Our dietitian can help you make healthy food choices by separating fact from fiction and distinguishing healthy eating plans from those that don’t provide optimal nourishment.

Dietician Services

Patients of UOHS may be referred to our dietician or participate in our two dietician-led programs: Craving Change and Healthy Lifestyles.

  • The Craving Change program is a “guide for changing your relationship with food” for patients struggling with emotional or problematic eating. The goal of this six-week program is to learn and understand “Why” you eat the way you do. The program is co- facilitated by a registered dietitian and a mental health educator.
  • The Healthy Lifestyles program is a lifestyle approach to help individuals reach and maintain their best weight. This seven-week program provides a group setting for sharing experiences and support, and is co-facilitated by a registered dietitian and a certified fitness trainer.

Ontario residents can call Telehealth Ontario toll-free at 1-866-797-0000 to speak to a dietitian for free, evidence-based nutrition and healthy eating information.
